How often are you excited about finishing a post for your blog and are actually pretty happy with your final version only to find out that Yoast is giving you an orange light on readability, or worse a blundering fail for lack of Yoast SEO transition words?

If you are reading this article, I suppose you must be familiar with the two orange faces in the picture. What’s not to hate about those unsmiley smileys? I am a Gemini and, as such, I usually embrace change but I can’t even put into words how much I miss the days of the first emoticons, which were always delightfully and predictably yellow.
I haven’t devoted many hours to my blogging project but it does have a meaning and I have been trying to make it work somehow.
Sorry, let me rephrase this last sentence for readability purposes. Here it goes: “Despite not devoting a considerable number of hours to my blog, it is especially important to state that it does serve a long-term purpose; for that reason, I feel the urge to strongly consider all the guidance I can get.
I am extremely lazy to add more paragraphs to a text that I had already concluded so I usually just try to squeeze in some transition words. However, I must confess that after inserting the right percentage of transition words required for SEO purposes, my poor writing skills would actually deserve a brown smiley, or worse, that friendly brown poop emoji. I wonder how many people feel my pain.
Let’s go for the green one!
After reading an insightful article on Yoast blog, Transition words: why and how to use them, by Marieke van de Rakt, I fell in love with Table 1 because it included example sentences. That is when I decided to get the full list of transition words that Yoast recognizes. I noticed there were a lot of words and phrases I would see myself using and came to the conclusion that I needed to make my own cheat sheet with example sentences to save me some time when I want to post something.
The words on this list are divided into categories according to the kind of meaning they convey. In addition, and much like in the table Yoast shared, I decided I would add multiple sentences to boost my creativity when I revisit this post; thus, the cheat sheet became an ongoing project. Feel free to pitch in.
