What is the best way to teach about stereotypes? The answer isn’t easy, but this worksheet, the presentation and all the videos included in this resource are a great way to start a discussion on the topic of stereotypes, prejudice and discrimination in our culturally diverse world. These resources focus on anti-racism and the importance of building a tolerant society. You can use this printable worksheet with teenagers and adult learners on November 16th for example, to celebrate the International Day of Tolerance. Analyze stereotypes together by watching and commenting on a short video and conduct a guided discussion to help students develop their ability to deconstruct social constructs and hopefully liberate themselves from them.  Scroll to the bottom of the page to watch the video preview.

This product includes

1) 3-page printable worksheet (Word + PDF);

2) 3-page printable answer key (Word + PDF);

3) 22-slide animated PowerPoint presentation (compatible with Google Slides);

4) 5 short videos.

Both the worksheets and the answer key are provided in US Letter and A4 so that you can choose the best size when printing (click here to see the difference). All files are compatible with Google Docs and/or Google Slides so you can open them using Google Drive. If necessary, watch the tutorial How to convert a PowerPoint file into Google Slides.

Putting it to the test

These resources will enable you to move on to the analysis of stereotypes and help the students develop their ability to deconstruct social constructs and hopefully liberate themselves from them by understanding the importance of cultural diversity in the world. If your students are into singing, you can wrap up your lesson with John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’, which you can find in my song section:
