Celebrating World Postcard Day

October 1st

Whether you’re a slow mail aficionado, someone who wants to surprise a loved one, or someone with thoughts to share, using a real printed postcard and actually mailing it will guarantee you wonders!

If you want to know more about this day, postcards and their history, you should check the website worldpostcardday.com.

You can even download the official postcard for this year’s World Postcard Day. It was designed by Leandro Ferreira for the Finepaper World Postcard Day Contest for Design and Graphic Arts Students.

The postcard design is also available under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license.

I’ve been sending postcards to random people for a couple of years. Choosing a postcard and a stamp actually takes me more time than writing the postcard itself but the feeling I get is great, almost as good as when I receive a postcard.

I sent three today to celebrate this 150-year-old tradition.

Have you sent or received many postcards lately?
